This photo is our very first EVER family photo. While I am a little appalled at how swollen I am in this photo (thanks to the 40 pounds of water weight I gained while pregnant PLUS the 10 pounds they pumped into me while I was in labor), this is the moment our lives changed forever.
For those who didn't know - about a year before this photo was taken (the previous August), I had a miscarriage. I can talk about it now and not feel ashamed or like I want to start crying, however that event is still a big hole in my heart to this day. I still mourn for that Child that wasn't. Also for the Absolute Silence inside my body after it happened.
That is perhaps why I feel Nora is a huge miracle. She Is. And this is the picture that to me describes how amazing that day was for me.
